ChalkySite (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an independent study aid for preparing for the UK construction Health, Safety & Environment test. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to CITB. This policy explains how the app handles information.
ChalkySite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account. We do not use advertising identifiers or any advertising SDKs. We do not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or files. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
All app content — the question bank and your study progress (answers, scores, settings, and language preference) — is stored locally on your device only, using the app’s private storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the app removes it.
The app offers an optional one-time purchase that unlocks the full question bank. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing: we never see or store your name, card details, or billing address. Google’s handling of payment data is described in Google’s own privacy policy. The only thing stored by the app is a local flag on your device indicating that the unlock is owned, so it keeps working offline.
When a purchase is made or restored, the app transmits purchase verification data to our backend (hosted on Firebase Cloud Functions) for fraud prevention for the paid unlock. This data consists of an opaque purchase token, product ID, and an App Check attestation token — no personal data is collected or transmitted. This information is not shared with third parties beyond Google Play (which is contacted server-side to validate the token) and Firebase (which hosts the verification function).
Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no personal data for us to secure on our servers. Your on-device study data is protected by Android’s standard app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from reading it. Communication with the Google Play Store for app installation, updates and purchases is handled by Google under Google’s own privacy terms.
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is intended for adults preparing for a professional construction test.
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised and the updated policy published at the same location.
